Welcome to the PPA!

Who are we?
Professional associations usually start out with a handful of enthusiasts bonded by common professional interests and goals. The PPA was established in 1987, by a group of dynamic demographers. These individuals represented governmental as well as private centers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao engaged in population and population-related studies.

PPA is a non-stock, non-profit, non-partisan, and non-sectarian association.

What do we want to be?
A dynamic, quality-driven organization of professionals who are engaged in population and population-related activities, which promotes a scientific base for addressing population and population-related issues through research and dissemination, training and extension, and keeps population issues at the forefront of public consciousness.

What shall we do to get there?
To advance the application of scientific rigor to the study and debate of population trends, patterns, processes, issues and programs through the following means:
  • Promotion of basic and applied population research;
  • Research and capability upgrading of members;
  • Provision of regular for a for addressing population and population-related issues;
  • Publication of scientific journal on population and population-related research and other activities; and
  • Forging strategic partnerships and networks.
